How do I sign up for a class at Empowered?
Our convenient online reservation system makes it easy to sign up and reserve a spot in class up to 14-days in advance! No more waiting in lines, and no need to call to book. Simply click here to reserve a spot today! Classes must be reserved >30 minutes in advance of the start of class.
Do I need to sign up in advance of a class or do you accept walk-ins?
Normally, we accept walk-ins but due to COVID-19 state guidelines, we have put this option on hold. Due to limited capacity, we strongly recommend reserving a spot in class well in advance. To schedule a class, click here.
How early should I arrive to my class at Empowered?
Please arrive no more than 10-minutes prior to the start of your scheduled class. Due to more rigorous cleaning, we may not be at the front desk to greet you, should you arrive earlier.
What should I bring and wear to an Empowered class?
Bring a positive attitude! Hydration is key so don’t forget to bring a water bottle. Touch-less water coolers are available to refill your water bottle. If you do forget to bring a bottle, we do sell bottled water in our studio. Please also bring a towel to use during class.
Regardless of whether you’re taking a strength or cycling class, we recommend wearing moisture-wicking, comfortable clothes to keep cool and dry throughout.
For strength classes, such as HIIT Strength and Combo/Cycling Core, we provide weights. For Barre and Core classes, a Bender ball is often used as are mini loop bands. Mini loop bands as well as Therabands are used in Band Camp. For all strength classes, please bring an exercise mat. Due to COVID-19, we have limited the sharing of equipment so please do bring your own. We also sell equipment onsite and via our online store.
If you’re new to indoor cycling, you may experience some discomfort with the seat. Bringing a gel seat or wearing padded bike shorts will help. Stiff-soled sneakers may be worn during class. However, for greater benefit, we recommend wearing cycling shoes. Our state of art Stages™ bikes accommodate SPD pedals. We also sell amazingly comfortable women’s TIEM Athletic cycling shoes in our studio and via our online store.
Do you provide workout towels at Empowered?
We have temporarily suspended our towel service due to COVID-19. We kindly request that you bring your own towel to use during class.
Do you have showers?
Yes, we do have two showers and typically, they are available on a first come, first served bases. However, due to COVID-19 state guidelines, we are unable to allow them to be used at this time.
What is PTP?
PTP stands for Personal Threshold Power. It is a 3-minute best effort benchmark that is run during the first quarter of cycling classes. The results of PTP are used to gauge various training zones throughout the ride. PTP is not run in classes held in our strength studio.
What are the age, weight and height requirements to participate at Empowered?
Riders must be 14 or older for all classes and for cycling classes, at least 4’10″ tall. Parental consent is required for anyone under 18 years of age.
Our bikes have a max user weight of 350 lbs.
Our strength studio is located on the second floor accessible via stairs.
What is Empowered's cancellation policy?
At Empowered, we are determined to serve the most amount of members while following the current social distancing mandate for indoor exercise. It absolutely breaks our hearts when a wait-listed class runs with an empty bike!
Please help us not let this happen and remember the following:
- For those ENROLLED in class: 8-hour notice of cancellation is required to avoid a forfeit of class (or $15 charge for those on an Unlimited or All-Access plan).
- For those on a class WAIT-LIST: Be prepared to be entered into class up to 30 minutes prior to class start. If you need a longer window of notification, please remove yourself from the wait-list once that point has been reached so another participant can get into class.
- Once a WAIT-LISTED person becomes ENROLLED: the 8 hour cancellation rules apply.
What is your inclement weather policy?
We will try our best not to cancel classes or close the studio. However, for the safety of our riders and staff, we recognize that we may need to close due to inclement weather. Starting the night before, please check the website schedule, for a most up-to-date schedule. If you are already registered for a class, you will receive an email notification if the class has been cancelled. You will not be charged a class if there is a studio cancellation.
